I’d love to hear from you! The first step is for us to chat about your photography needs. We can do this, in person over the phone, virtually. Whatever suits your fancy. I’ll share some example galleries based on your venue and vision for the day. And if it’s good fit, I’ll send over a customized contract and you’ll have booked your photographer. Phew – cross that off the list!
WEDDING EXPERIENCE GUIDE
I know, I know. You’re swamped with things to read and consider. I promise I would not send you something if it wasn’t truly helpful. After booking your wedding date, you will receive a wedding experience guide that offers many tips and ideas to help you plan your wedding and think through the process. This guide also includes more info about the engagement session. It’s pretty. It’s informative. It’s great for resting hot and cold beverages on.
The next step is your engagement session! YAY. The date is up to you, but generally I recommend scheduling it at least six months before the wedding so that you have time to send out your save-the-date announcements. You pick the location, I’m happy to travel. If you need some ideas, I've got a pretty good list of the best spots throughout central Virginia. This is a great time for us to get comfortable working together. I also love capturing bride and groom in everyday clothes at a casual or meaningful location.
A couple months before your wedding date, I’ll touch base on details and start helping you think through a timeline. I’ll work with you and your planner to coordinate getting ready pictures, first-looks, ceremony, family portrait combinations, bride and groom portraits, and any other events that make your day uniquely your day. You can also let me know if there are any shots you would specifically like for me to capture. My job is to help make sure all you have to worry about on your wedding day is having an amazing time and celebrating with friends and family!
It’s finally here! I will arrive with an assistant at the location you have chosen to get dressed before the ceremony. My assistant (often my talented husband, Luke) will photograph the fellas, and I will focus on the bride and bridesmaids. We’ll reference your timeline and shots list to catch as many special moments from your day as we can. We’ll stay ‘til the end. No matter what…we don’t want to miss a thing. We also know it takes a small village to pull off such a momentous occasion, and we're also happy to help any way we can. If your uncle needs a hand tacking up some last minute decorations, Luke is pretty good with a hammer.
You’ll probably be anxiously awaiting your photos. I remember being a bride and thinking, "What could be taking so long!?" To tied you over we typically preview a few images on social media within 48 hours of your wedding day. I’ll spend the next 4-5 weeks editing your images and preparing them for delivery. Couples receive approximately 1000 images based on details of the day! I post your wedding day photos on a beautiful online gallery where you and your family can download for free and other guests can purchase prints of the images.
